The Role
This is a hands-on role for a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic with at least two years post-trade experience. Join one of the fastest growing workshops in Melbourne and work on brand new technology once it arrives from overseas. You will be exposed and trained across CAN Bus electrical systems and become and expert in multiplexing. You will work indoors in a large, well lit, efficient working environment that is capable of housing 10+ bays at once. This company is well known and building it’s delivery capacity year on year ensuring you will have the chance for fast career progression.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out mechanical assembly, maintenance, and repairs on complex electrical systems
- Conducting inspections, diagnostics, and fault finding on mechanical systems
- Interpreting technical drawings and documentation to ensure accurate work
- Overseeing mechanical trade assistants and assigning pre-delivery tasks
- Supporting workshop operations and contributing to a safe, clean, and efficient work environment
- Collaborating with the technical teams to solve problems and improve processes
Requirements
- A recognised mechanical trade qualification (Cert III or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years' post-apprenticeship experience in a heavy mechanical or precision fitting environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and service documentation
- Willingness to work out of hours and weekends as required
- Availability to travel overseas for specialist training during the first year
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – with a professional and team-oriented approach
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
