About the Role

They are now seeking an experienced National Account Manager to lead and grow strategic partnerships with their key national retail customers — including Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, and Costco.
This role is critical to driving revenue growth, delivering outstanding service, and ensuring long-term success across our retail accounts. You will work closely with senior stakeholders both internally and externally to develop commercial strategies, manage account performance, and bring exciting new products to market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for major retail partners and manage all aspects of account performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with category managers, buyers, and merchandising teams.
  • Negotiate contracts, manage commercial terms, and ensure mutual success.
  • Develop and execute account-specific growth strategies to achieve revenue and margin targets.
  • Identify opportunities for product innovation, range extensions, and category expansion.
  • Analyse sales, market trends, and competitive activity to inform business decisions.
  • Coordinate with production, logistics, and quality teams to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Lead promotional planning, forecasting, and product launch activities.
  • Contribute to annual business planning, budgets, and category reviews.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in National Account Management within FMCG or food manufacturing.
  • Proven success managing relationships with major Australian retailers (Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, or Costco).
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in negotiation, pricing, and P&L management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in sales reporting and data interpretation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field.
Desirable:
  • Experience in bakery or food categories.
  • Familiarity with retail promotional calendars, merchandising, and EDI/vendor systems.
  • Understanding of food manufacturing supply chain and logistics.
  • Category management training or certification.
