I’m currently partnering with a well-established, purpose-driven Not-for-Profit organisation to recruit an experienced Payroll Officer to join their fantastic payroll team.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a longer-term position, offering an initial 24-month fixed-term contract with the potential to extend. You’ll also have the benefit of a hybrid working arrangement, giving you a great balance between working from home and being part of a supportive and collaborative team in their Camberwell office.
The organisation provides services across aged care, families, disability and wider community services, so there is a genuine purpose behind the work you’ll be doing.
You’ll be joining an established payroll function and working closely with an experienced Payroll Manager and wider team. It’s a great environment for someone who enjoys being part of a team, wants stability and is looking for an organisation where they can genuinely settle in and enjoy the people they work with.
About the Role
This is a hands-on Payroll Officer position where you'll be responsible for:
- Processing payroll accurately and within required timeframes
- Assisting with end-of-pay processing
- Calculating and processing terminations, back pays and overpayments
- Responding to payroll queries from employees and managers
- Supporting end-of-pay and end-of-month reporting
- Producing ad hoc payroll reports
- Assisting with General Ledger reconciliations
- Maintaining and updating payroll processes and procedures
- Working closely with internal stakeholders across the wider organisation
About You
To be successful, you'll ideally bring:
- 3–5 years' experience within a Payroll Officer or similar position
- Good understanding of taxation, superannuation and WorkCover legislation
- Strong attention to detail and numerical skills
- Confidence managing payroll queries and working with a range of stakeholders
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a collaborative team
Experience with Aurion and UKG would be highly regarded, as would previous experience within aged care or the Not-for-Profit sector.
Why You'll Love This Opportunity
If you're looking for more than just another short-term payroll contract, this is a really lovely opportunity. You'll have the security of a 24-month position, potential to extend, hybrid flexibility and, most importantly, a great team around you.
You'll also be joining a large Not-for-Profit where your work contributes to an organisation making a genuine difference across the community.
If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, I’d love to hear from you.
