People & Culture Manager – Operations  

A leading manufacturing organisation in the South Gippsland region is seeking a dynamic and hands-on People & Culture Manager – Operations to partner with frontline leaders and managers to drive a high-performance culture, employee engagement, and operational excellence.

About the role:  
  • Partnering with operational leaders to develop and implement people strategies that improve team performance and engagement. 
  • Providing coaching and support to managers on employee performance, development, and relations issues. 
  • Managing core HR activities including absenteeism, transfers, exit interviews, and performance management processes. 
  • Delivering timely and accurate reporting and analytics to support business decisions. 
  • Supporting talent identification and development planning in collaboration with operational leaders. 
  • Contributing to change initiatives, including restructuring and capability-building programs. 
  • Advising managers on HR policies, procedures, and relevant employment legislation. 
  • Facilitating workforce planning activities and recruitment approvals in partnership with Talent Acquisition. 
  • Participating in broader HR projects and contributes to continuous improvement efforts. 
What we’re looking for:  
  • Degree in human resources, business, or a related field (preferred). 
  • At least 2 years of experience in a HR Business Partner or equivalent role. 
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility across all levels of the organisation. 
  • Sound understanding of industrial relations legislation and its application in the workplace. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and judgment. 
  • Skills in engaging frontline leaders and employees. 
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills, with experience in fast-paced or customer-focused environments considered advantageous.
