Our client is a large, well-established business with a near-century-long footprint in the retail space across Australia and New Zealand. Employing thousands of staff regionally, they're known for a people-first culture and market-leading brands. As they continue building out a best-practice procurement function, they're looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to join on a 6-month contract.

The Opportunity

You'll be working across a broad indirect spend base, from operational and site-based services through to logistics and vendor consolidation opportunities, giving you real breadth and visibility from day one.
Partnering directly with business leaders across ANZ to shape sourcing strategy, run competitive tenders and renewals, and negotiate supplier agreements that deliver measurable value while managing risk.

What you'll be doing

  • Building procurement plans by translating business needs and market conditions into clear commercial strategy
  • Leading end to end sourcing activity including RFx, benchmarking, negotiation and contract finalisation
  • Developing cost models and market intelligence to support credible, data-backed recommendations
  • Identifying and managing supplier and contract risk across the relationship lifecycle
  • Negotiating pricing, terms and service levels alongside Legal and key stakeholders
  • Overseeing supplier performance frameworks and acting as an escalation point for commercial issues
  • Advising stakeholders on lower value procurement activity and influencing entrenched supplier relationships

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience across sourcing, negotiation, contracting and supplier risk management
  • Strong commercial acumen and comfort with cost, service and market analysis
  • Excellent stakeholder influence, communication and relationship management skills
  • Sharp analytical thinking and the ability to turn data into action
  • A track record of delivering results under pressure in a fast-paced environment
This is a great opportunity for an experienced indirect procurement professional to make an immediate impact within a well-resourced, values driven organisation.
