This is a key leadership opportunity for a hands-on and commercially minded supply chain professional who thrives in fast-paced, high-volume environments. The role will take ownership of daily planning operations, managing transport flows, 3PL performance and operational escalations, while leading a team to deliver strong service outcomes. You will play a critical role in improving planning processes, reducing cost leakage, and enhancing visibility and control across the supply chain network.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting into the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Lead and support a team of Supply Chain Planners across daily execution and workload prioritisation
- Act as the escalation point for transport delays, detention events and delivery disruptions
- Manage relationships with 3PL providers, ensuring performance against service levels and cost expectations
- Oversee damage and incident management, including investigations and claims recovery
- Monitor inventory positioning and coordinate inter-warehouse movements to support service outcomes
- Drive transport optimisation initiatives including load utilisation, routing efficiency and cost control
- Analyse operational performance, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions
- Develop reporting dashboards and provide insights across logistics and planning performance
- Partner with Sales, Customer Service and Operations to manage delivery risks and customer outcomes
- Drive system utilisation, process discipline and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead, mentor and develop planning team capability and succession strength
About You
To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience in supply chain planning, logistics coordination or transport operations leadership
- Strong exposure to managing 3PL providers, freight escalations and service disruptions
- Understanding of inventory management, distribution networks and planning workflows
- Experience working with ERP, WMS or transport planning systems
- Proven ability to lead teams within fast-paced operational environments
- Strong analytical capability with a focus on continuous improvement
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of international freight and shipping practices will be highly regarded
