About the role
A need has arisen for an experienced Warehouse 2IC to join their small but happy team based on the fringes of Perth’s CBD.
In this dynamic and fast paced role, you will be responsible for receiving, processing and distribution of all goods purchased by the company. You will also be responsible for the storage and distribution of all stock held by the company coupled with practicing safe work processes and procedures and implementing continuous improvement to minimize waste. Your detailed responsibilities are as follows:
- Ensuring the stores team is aware of their responsibilities and is provided with clear work instructions each day.
- Liaising with all other areas of the business to ensure the function of the stores is providing effective support.
- Assist the Warehouse Manager with the day to day running of the warehouse and staff management.
- Ensuring workers are abiding by all safety procedures & are using the correct work procedures.
- Ensuring work area is kept clean & tidy. Practice Five S.
- The management of stock within the company, both physically and administration.
- Responsible for the correct receiving of all physical goods received by the company.
- Responsible for the correct distribution of these goods to the purpose for which they were purchased.
- Responsible for the inventory stock level, condition and undertaking regular stock counts.
- Processing of sales orders on a daily basis to meet the requirements of the sales of the company.
- Ensuring that all products and parts being shipped are prepared, packaged, are accompanied by appropriate instructions, shipping documents.
- In collaboration with Procurement Officer, set goals for stock management, i.e., stock turn, inventory levels.
- Providing constructive feedback in all aspects of work, including reporting any dangers or hazards.
- Providing encouragement, support, and recognition to all workers.
- Promoting good relations and harmony.
- Ensuring the stores area is locked up each day and equipment is ready for use. This includes Forklift, materials handling equipment and packaging material.
As the ideal candidate and to make the transition as smooth as possible, you will possess the following key attributes:
- Previous warehouse assistant team leadership experience ideally within the signwriting, print or labels industry but not mandatory
- The ability to lead and train a small team
- Excellent communication, time management and customer service skills
- Above average computer literacy with excellent attention to detail
- Reliable and honest and is someone that can own their mistakes
- Be a team player who is willing to go the extra mile
- A Forklift Licence
