Even if you love your job, as Sunday draws to a neigh it's hard not to feel resentment over the looming Monday and the mammoth workload ahead of you.

Rather than fighting Monday and spending your week playing catch-up, Morgan's recruiters have shared a few habits that you can incorporate into your life so you work more efficiently and achieve greater success with less angst.

1. Don't Put Off Tomorrow, What Can You Do Today

92% of Australian employees become stressed when they receive and read an email in the workplace. [1]

Taking some time out of your Sunday night whether it's just going through your emails, or at least prioritising your emails will ensure Monday isn't spent scrolling through your inbox raising your blood pressure as your day gets away from you.

'Just 30 minutes on Sunday night with a glass of red smashing out emails ensures I'm ready for Monday, knowing that I'm already on top of it all! Amazing what that 30 minutes achieves for the week ahead!'      - Scott Bennetts

2. Get Your Head Right

The list of mediation benefits are endless, from improved concentration, mindfulness and anti-aging so why not try to take the time to partake in mediation? Your body will love you for it!

A review on meditation found that 69% of the studies analysed showed meditation practices alleviated symptoms of anxiety' [2]

'Every morning I do meditation through the 'Headspace' app. They are guided meditations that take you through steps to get you acquainted with establishing a meditation practice. Often on a Sunday I'll do a longer meditation to calm my mind and set my focus for the week ahead.' - Kim Keating

3. To Do Or Not To Do

One of the most successful organisation tools is making a to do list. On Sunday night when the Monday Blues begin to weigh you down and your head is spinning with everything you have to do, write down what's on your mind.

Putting pen to paper making your thoughts tangible will prepare a more achievable and realistic set of priorities, creating a point of reference to come back to. And it's satisfying crossing things off your list showing your progress as you go.

'I recommend as soon as you get to work write your top 3 jobs for the day, at the end of the day review that list what have and haven't you accomplished and make a list for tomorrow based on today. Repeat this process everyday.' - Ewa Karczewska

4. The Top 3

Following on from making your to do list, prioritising is key. Prioritising what's on your list ensures that you focus on 3 of the most important items, rather than giving in to the temptation of working on the less important projects.

Ensure you are across what the most important task is and the least important will keep you focused on being as efficient as possible at managing your time.

'I am a list writer and I think it's crucial mainly because in a sales environment we all know that administrative tasks become the second, third or even fourth priority. Often this is detrimental to getting a placement across the line and so writing lists help me remember all tasks I need to carry out to ensure I am attending to all aspects of the role.' – Hugh Trumble

5. Food For Thought

Fuel your body with food that helps your brain and provides long lasting energy. Don't fall into the trap of eating food like heavy carb loaded meals that will make you feel sluggish, putting you to sleep. Give your body what it needs to get going – protein and good fats. A clean breakfast is key to hitting the ground running.

'I cook a clean vegetable and high protein breakfast bake to get me through my first few breakfasts. It means I don't have to waste my energy on decision-making time on what to eat come Monday morning, and it gives me the right nutrition to fuel my body without anything high allergy that will only hinder my energy.' - Nicole Dickmann.

6. Time Management Tools

If time management isn't one of your strengths, luckily there are a lot of tools out there to help you, such as reminders, organisers and handy apps.

It could be as simple as setting yourself a weekly reminder to check your to do list, or booking a weekly hour meeting with yourself dedicated to weekly planning and prioritising time every week.

'I use Outlook calendar reminders, to do/task lists, and Bullhorn reminders for candidate and client follow ups. Also, Monday morning team meetings to identify priorities for the week and how I can assist others.' - Anna Caelli

7. Reflection Makes Perfect

A paper by Harvard Business School reveals that reflecting on what you have done teaches you to do it better next time.

'Now more than ever we seem to be living lives where we're busy and overworked, and our research shows that if we'd take some time out for reflection, we might be better off,' [3] On your weekend reflect on your previous week's successors and failures and then reflect on why and how they occurred and how to make the coming week a total success.

'I reflect on the week gone by and assess how I can make the coming week more productive and more successful. I write a to-do list at the end of Friday with the next week's priorities and how I'm going to achieve my them one by one taking into consideration my previous week and what I could do better.' - Lauren Esler

8. Schedule Meetings Ahead Of Time

By being proactive and scheduling your meetings and your business development/client meetings a week in advance, you can schedule your toughest meetings at the time of day when you work at your opimum. Do you work better in the mornings? Or are more of an afternoon worker?

'I like to ensure my diary is adequately filled with client/candidate meetings by the preceding Friday, this would ensure that my week would always be busy and busiest tends to breed being busy.' -
Rob Delant

9. Three Steps Ahead

Planning means thinking about the future now so that you can do something about it now.

If you want to be performing as efficiently as possible, planning ahead of time is crucial. Give yourself a well thoughout step-by-step process to you know where you are going and keep your eye on the goal.

Detailed plans created ahead of time help to execute projects so you reach targets

'I am constantly working a week, a month and even a quarter in advance. Know what you need to do each day based on what you have planned the week before in order to be consistently on top of your game and ahead of the rest. Always think forward.' – Tony Henderson.
