Do you ever wonder why certain companies feature blogs on their corporate website? To many, a blog may just seem like a simple channel to present content and information to your target audience. However, there are several powerful side benefits of blogging that you may not be aware of.

If your company isn't blogging already, here are a few reasons why it should start today.
Get More Traffic

If you want your company website to be found, you need it to rank well with search engines, a concept called Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). It just so happens that search engines like when websites are regularly updated with lots of quality content. This is where blogging comes in. Each time you publish a blog, it shows search engines like Google that your website is frequently updated.

In addition, having more content allows you to cast a larger net and put your website in front of more eyes. This is because each blog post is indexed separately and contains its own topic and keywords. When people conduct a web search, they type in keywords and Google retrieves relevant pages that match the criteria. More indexed pages allow for more unique keywords, which leads to a greater presence in search results.

In short, consistently posting blogs will help ensure that your website is easily found among search results instead of being buried where nobody will find it. Blogs are search engine gold!

Social media is a valuable marketing tool that can expose your company to a much larger audience. However, merely sharing recycled posts from other sources is not enough. To fully engage with followers on social media, you need create your own content to share. Luckily, your blog is an excellent source of original content.

However, blogging not only creates social media content; it provides the opportunity to share that content as well. Someone who reads one of your posts and enjoys it might share it with their social media followers. Sharing your posts on social media allows you to reach new potential customers and invite them to the conversation. That's extra exposure for you and an endorsement that you wouldn't get otherwise.

Build a Relationship

Customers want to do business with a company that they can trust, and a blog is a great way to establish this. Consistently sharing useful information helps set you up as an expert in your field and builds loyalty. By consistently providing accurate and helpful blog content, potential customers will begin to see you as a reputable source of information and be more likely to conduct business with you in the future.

Your posts also give people a reason to keep coming back to your website. Blogging about topics that people are interested in helps you engage with visitors and encourages them to engage with you.
